Overview

YouTube never really warns you about this part. You spend years leaving little comments under videos. Some random opinions. Some bad takes. A few weird inside jokes only you found funny. And you never think much of it until one day you randomly remember. Or worse, someone finds one of your old comments and shows it to you. That is exactly how I ended up here. I wanted to know where all my YouTube comments were hiding and how to see them all in one place. Because let’s be real. There is nothing worse than knowing you probably said something dumb but not remembering where you said it.

The good news is you can absolutely see your comments on YouTube. I will show you exactly how to find them, and while we are at it, how to edit or delete the ones that should probably disappear forever.

For what it is worth, YouTube’s comment section is its own little world. Some creators even build entire communities inside the comments. And if you are one of those people who cares about visibility, engagement, or getting more attention on your content, things like YouTube comments an actually make a difference in how your videos perform.

Can You See All Your YouTube Comments in One Place?

YouTube does not make a lot of things easy. But to be fair, when it comes to tracking your past activity, they actually did a decent job. They basically collect every little thing you have done on their platform and organize it like a personal archive. Comments included. Which means yes, you can absolutely see all your YouTube comments in one place. You just need to know where to look.

The way it works is pretty simple. YouTube has a dedicated section called Comments History. You will find a full list of every comment you have ever posted. You will see exactly which video each comment belongs to. You will see the full text of your comment. And you even get a direct link that takes you straight to that specific video. It works both on desktop and on mobile, though the path you take to get there is slightly different depending on the device. But the point is, once you land there, everything you have ever said sits neatly in front of you. Kind of impressive actually.

If you are trying to figure out how to see your comments on YouTube, this is the page you are going to want to find.

How to See Your Comments on YouTube (Desktop)

If you are using YouTube on your computer, here is exactly how to see your comments on YouTube without getting lost in endless menus.

Once you land here, you get a full uncensored view of everything you have ever commented. Some you will feel proud of. Some you will want to pretend never happened.

How to See Your Comments on YouTube (Mobile App)

If you are trying to see your comments on YouTube from your phone, the steps are a little different but still pretty simple. Here is exactly what you need to do.

YouTube also gives you a shortcut if you do not feel like clicking through all the menus. You can just search for YouTube comment history on Google, or skip the search and go straight here.

On desktop, this button we have for you takes you directly to your full comment history where you can see everything right away. On mobile, though, it usually just opens your regular watch history, not your comment history. Still, it is a good place to start before following the full steps we went through earlier.

How to Edit or Delete Your YouTube Comments

Sometimes you do not even need to see the full list to realize a comment needs fixing. But since you now know how to see your comments on YouTube, you can easily edit or delete any of them directly from your Comments History. It is honestly very simple.

  • Find the comment you want to change.
  • Tap on the three vertical dots next to it.
  • Select Edit if you just want to fix the wording.
  • Select Delete if you want it gone completely.

That is it. Editing lets you quickly reword something without losing the entire comment. Deleting fully removes it from public view. Just keep in mind that when you delete a comment, it may take a few hours before it fully disappears from everywhere. Sometimes you just want to keep track of the conversations you have engaged in, not just your own comments. If you are curious, there is even a way to see the comments you liked on YouTube, which is a nice little bonus if you want to revisit discussions you found interesting.

What If You Can't Find Certain Comments?

Now let’s talk about the part that might annoy you a little. Sometimes you go through the full list and notice that a comment you are absolutely sure you made is just not there. So where did it go?

  • The video you commented on was deleted or made private.
  • The channel owner removed your comment.
  • YouTube itself flagged it and removed it for breaking some policy you probably didn’t even know you broke.

And yes, sometimes your comments simply do not show up at all. If you are dealing with missing or disappearing comments, this happens way more often than people realize. If you are wondering why your comments are not showing up on YouTube, there are a few reasons behind that too.

Final Thoughts

At least YouTube gives you some kind of control over your old mess. You just need to know where to click. Now you know exactly how to see your comments on YouTube, no matter how old or random they are. And you also know how to clean things up if needed.

If you are like me, you will probably find a mix of harmless comments, a few you are weirdly proud of, and plenty you wish you could pretend never happened. Either way, it feels good to know you can actually go back and see it all. And fix it if you want to.
