Discovery of Insights on Personal Accounts
Initially, the Post Insights option popped up unexpectedly on a personal account of ours, leading to some confusion about whether it had been accidentally switched to professional mode. However, upon closer inspection, it was clear that the account was still a personal one. Further research revealed that many users were experiencing the same situation. It turns out this phenomenon isn’t isolated—numerous personal account holders have suddenly found themselves with access to insights, sparking curiosity across the Instagram community.
What Instagram Says (or Doesn't Say)
So far, there is still not an official statement from Instagram saying anything about Instagram Insights showing up on personal accounts. If you check their website, they still say that Insights are only for professional accounts like business and creator profiles. With no official word from Instagram, we have come up with our own ideas about what might be going on.
Glitch in the system
Based on Instagram, who still officially claims that Insights are only for professional accounts, this could turn out to be a mistake by their side.
Testing new features
This could also be just a testing of a new feature with a small group of users. We also noticed that this feature is not implemented on all personal accounts.
Gradual rollout
One other speculation we got is that Instagram might be slowly rolling out Insights to personal accounts and just hasn’t made a big announcement yet. This way, they can fix any issues that come up before a wider release.
Analyzing the Feature (or Glitch)
We are now going to talk about this feature. Well it sits under all your posts as a button as “View Insights”. When you click on it, you have your post insights, where you can see an overview of how many accounts your post actually reached, how many engagements you got and the profile visits as well. You also have these in graphs and a bit more detailed showing like in the pics below.
Impressions are also included here. If you were wondering why you ain’t getting a lot of impressions we are here to help you. We offer a service where you can buy Instagram Impressions, and for a really cheap price too! Let’s jump back to the article now!
In the top right corner you have a “See all” button where you can analyze all of your content, and it also has some filters for you to sort your content based on popularity, post type and metric. Yes, all of these insights on a personal Instagram account.
When we go to Settings, we can find this feature on the “For Professionals” tab. We have a “Creator tools and insights” button where you click on it, and it takes you to 3 sections, where the first one are the Insights, where we also get information about the number of followers, with graphs involved too. Something very interesting about the other sections too. You can see an Achievements feature, which is a feature not available for all accounts as well, but at least there is an article by Instagram regarding it.
And lastly, we have the monetization and Ad tools, and below them, you have a gray text which says that you need to switch to a professional account to use these tools, further proving that this indeed is a personal account.
If you still do not have Insights on your account and you want them, we have a guide on how to switch to a business account and vice versa.
How to Check if You Have This Feature
If you’re one of the lucky few to have Instagram insights on a personal account, you’ll definitely notice it. The Post Insights option will show up right under your posts, and there’s no way to turn it off in Settings. It just sits there. Keep in mind, though, this only works on public accounts! If you switch your Instagram to private, that option will disappear but will come back when you go public again.
But don’t worry if it’s not something you care about—you’ll probably forget it’s even there. It doesn’t change the interface or add any extra buttons that might confuse you. It’s kind of a secluded feature, so if you’re not into it, you can just ignore it and go about your Instagramming as usual.
Potential Benefits of Insights on Personal Accounts
Imagine enjoying the perks of a professional account without the hassle of signing up for one. That’s exactly what Instagram Insights on personal accounts offer. You get valuable analytics without changing the nature of your account. The insights don’t clutter your interface or pop up everywhere, keeping your Instagram experience smooth and straightforward.
Even better, you can switch your account to private without losing your insight data. When you go public again, your insights will reappear, allowing you to track your performance seamlessly. This feature is perfect for those who have always wanted access to insights but didn’t want to switch to a professional account because they’re using Instagram for personal reasons.
